Assisting Farmers in Burkina Faso from the Sky

With local and international partners such as development organisation SNV, telecom provider Orange and government ministries, HSS is improving the position and situation of the pastoralists in Burkina Faso through herd management and conflict avoidance.

By using satellite data, the pastoralists are informed on the best locations for pastures and water areas via their mobile phone and call centre in Ouagadougou. The crossing of herds over cropped areas are frequently the cause of conflicts between pastoralists and farmers.
