The effects of drought in the Netherlands

The summer of 2018 was exceptionally dry. And 2019 saw low rainfall as well. As a result water tables have fallen and have not yet come back to normal.

HSS is part of a consortium that studies the drought that affected the southern and eastern parts of the Netherlands heavily.

The effects of potential measures are being determined with ground water models, plant production models and satellite imagery.
