Insurance for the Adaptation to Climate Change in Ghana

In Northern Ghana, Climate Change seems to bring about more extreme weather. Both drought and torrential rain. This is recognized by the government of Ghana and the German Development Corporation. This resulted in the project “Innovative Insurance Products for the Adaptation to Climate Change”.
The aim is to help small farmers in Northern Ghana by offering them insurance against drought. Local Ghanaian insurance companies provide this cover. Hoefsloot Spatial Solutions supports this project by providing the methodology to determine the extent of drought. Practically we’ve been providing data, software and training. Read more…
